Choosing the right composite door
At BDS Windows and Doors we like to give our customers the most extensive range of composite doors to suit all budgets. We install composite doors from both Solidor and Door Stop International, both of which offer the very highest security and excellent thermal efficiency.
The entrance to your home is often the primary thought when it comes to replacing your windows and doors. We ensure all installations are treated with the care and attention you deserve but with so many different styles to choose from you may never get there!.
Understanding the difference
There are many different types of doors that you can install on your home however they are not all built to the same standards of quality and security as a composite door. There are numerous reasons for the differences in door quality; from the materials they use to the overall design and choosing a door made from poor materials with a cheap design can leave your home exposed to threats. This is not to say that every home should have a reinforced steel door, just that it is possible to find a great compromise between style, strength and price.
The main thing to understand about composite front doors is that they are made from multiple materials which ensures great strength, durability and looks. The core of a composite door can contain wood, insulating materials and many other layers which are all protected by a weather resistant outer skin. The only real trade off with installing a composite door is that you can expect to pay a little bit more than you would for a standard UPVC door however, for some, the benefits outweigh the additional cost.
Colour all round
Door-Stop offer the first composite door to give the complete package–all-round colour. The uniquely co-ordinated details threshold, frame, door drip and edges combine together to make a truly striking appearance. The door can be as individual as you like. Three new door colours; Poppy Red, Duck Egg Blue and Black Brown, have added to our existing ten; White, Black, Blue, Red, Green, Oak, Darkwood, Cream, Grey and Chartwell Green.
